Engagement AI: Social Manager

Deleting your Instagram data

When you connect an Instagram professional account to Engagement AI, we store that account's messages, comments, media, insights and profile so the app can show them. You can have this data deleted in any of these ways.

In Instagram: remove Engagement AI

  1. In the Instagram app, open your profile, then Settings and activity → Website permissions → Apps and websites. (The labels can differ slightly between Instagram versions.)
  2. Find Engagement AI and tap Remove.
  3. If Instagram offers to send a data deletion request, send it. Instagram tells us, and we give you a confirmation code and a link where you can follow the request.

As soon as you remove the app, we disconnect the account and delete its access token. When we receive the deletion request, we delete that account's Instagram data within 24 hours.

In Engagement AI: disconnect the account

A workspace owner or admin can disconnect the account in the app's settings. The access token is deleted at once, and the account's Instagram data is deleted 30 days later unless you reconnect it. Deleting the workspace deletes its Instagram data at once.

By email

Write to support@engagementai.net from the email address you use for Engagement AI, with the Instagram username. We confirm the request and delete the data within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What is deleted

Your Engagement AI account and workspace stay, as do the settings the business wrote itself, such as automations and its knowledge base; to delete those too, see Delete your account. We keep a record that the deletion happened, without its content, for one year.

Following a request

The link you receive with your confirmation code shows whether the request is received, in progress or completed. If you have a question about a request, write to us with the code.
